My Letters

Dear long weekends,  the excitement and love you bring will never fade. I can't assure my bank account the same.  Dear Megan and Molly,  what a great time a movie, cheap wine, a fountain, and ponies can be with you girls.  Dear new Swedish friends,  you were the most amazing, entertaining, happiest, best dressed dancers I've ever seen. I hope with all my hopes to see you again. Thanks, Jonatan and Catharina for introducing these awesome people. Dear $6.99 leather jacket,  I'm so excited to have found you at the Fleamarket today. Rest assured, you will be put to use and loved dearly. And thanks, Sune for spotting your broke lady so I can try to be cool.  Dear super awesome  Sweet potato hash browns,    you filled my tummy with rays of sunshine.  Dear Bella,  (Molly's 88 year old roommate!) you've been added to my list of fascinating people I want to write a book about. And you were just as sweet as I imagined.  Dear Jen and friends,  was  so

Min Søde Clara Louise

Just look at that absolute cuteness.  Even after a super busy, slightly annoying day due to cleaning, cooking, and her siblings, this little one brightened my day in an instant. From just walking in saying hey to me, wanting to brush my hair (the pictures), her perfect face replications (she's so good at that), then wanting to help me with the dishes and making lunches...  She is SUCH a sweetheart.  And it warms my heart every time she calls me "min søde Abby."  My sweet Abby.  Oh, and a funny thing today was when she got my hair tangled in the brush, she gave a very genuine, sympathy "ow."  Love this sweet precious angel baby. Happy Cows and Kin

This weekend was another great one for the books I danced crazy with Megan, surely getting funny looks.  We had wine so bad we actually trashed it  That never happens, so you know it was sh*% On Saturday, the boy and I went around town Searched fleamarkets for a thermos, and laid in the garden of the crowned .  We enjoyed the sun for as long as we could  And missed our chance again for smørrebrød.  I got to meet his sister and her man  They were such awesome people, a lovely clan.  His sister, was the epitome of cute With her baby bump, chucks, and cute jumpsuit.  I finally got my fix of some delightful raw fish Then we headed home early, as we all wished.  They also got to meet Mom, Liesl and Chris. With Chris' rap and foot rash, they were acquainted quite quick.  I still regret missing a birthday and rugby.  I hope these friends will soon forgive me.  Sunday was the day for the happy bovines . We drove to the country to see them align,

Today's Gratitude

This week, I'm grateful for...   Having Wednesday night and Thursday off!   Getting the chance to see Sune play so much Silly floral shop and floraborg plans.  Domestic days with the boy, picking out flowers, visiting his hometown, coffee by the harbor, and meeting his "second family." The town of Dragør is a very quiet, peaceful town by the harbor with this fort they made to watch the pesky Swedes. (I believe that's what it was).  The town is adorable with perfect little yellow homes along cobblestone paths, accented with beautiful vivid flowers in the windows and gardens. It was nice having coffee with his "second family" who were very welcoming and lovely. Interesting too with all their African hunting experiences.  On top of the fort in Dragør. That night, we were on a mission to make a jungle for his room and ended up with this beast. It was funny too, after his very domestic day, we really had to get our motivation to go out for a party.

My Letters

From the inspiration from this girl's amazing blog, I wanted to start two sections she does that I thought were excellent... "Today's Letters" and "Gratitude Lately." I'd been writing 5 things I was grateful for in my personal journal but figured it could be nice to share here too. So here's the first for Today's Letters.   Dear Boss Mom and kids , I love that you've been extra happy lately. I'm having so much fun with you, kiddos. Wish it was like this the whole time!  Dear sun , thank you for coming out and being the likely cause of the former mention.  Dear legs , I know you're tired, and I hope you're sore tomorrow, but we gotta get this tookus back in shape.  Dear Sune , I never even regret our 5:20am train routine. It's always worth it.  Dear new book, please don't turn out too depressing.  Dear Maria, thank you for being a better problem solver than I, and figuring out how to make this blog more leg

Two in One: Weekend Update

Easter Weekend  I got back from my Nethergium trip late on Thursday, so just had a nice movie night with Sune.  2.  Made pie and FaceTimed Mom, Dad, and Matt and met his new girlfriend! Good FaceTime with Amy too.  3. Had a great night out with Molly and Megan at Francis Pony.  4. Learned about Molly's crazy roommates and coworkers during our Easter coffee and cake with Megan, Molly, and Molly's friend.  5. Got the best Thai food takeout with Suneman and spent the night  playing guitar. I enjoyed this mucho, especially the Easter songs since we missed the church service due to a key mixup.  7. We had our first experience at  the  Listening Room , where they have singer/songwriters every Sunday .  8. We biked around, chilled on a hill by The Lake, and enjoyed the sun... While every other Dane did the same. I love how they revel in the sun whenever it's out. Music and chillin on the bridge. Excellent. A very chill Monday.  9. Sune fooled me when we starte

Music Mention: Sune Grip

So for my girlfriend and groupie duties, I'll be (possibly obnoxiously) sharing random videos of Sune Grip... and links, info, and whatever promotional bits I want. Even if I wasn't seeing this guy I would still be impressed by his musical talents. His band's singer, Morten, isn't so bad either. ;) (And if you want a tight band for a party/wedding/whateva, check him out.)  For Sune and Morten's Facebook, click here .  Enjoy! :)   "Off my Feet" by Underground Zoo

Nethergium: Two Countries, Four Cities, One Good Trip

Although it may seem like we didn't do a lot in terms of touristy stuff, this trip was still quite an adventure. Even with our lack of willingness to pay for museums or wait in lines, museums being closed, and early nights, we still managed to do a lot. And if you don't wanna read this whole post, a quick summary could be "lots of walking, canals, shopping, coffee shops, beer, one castle, one tower, cats, flutes, biking, Jesus' blood, live music, and great people."  But for those avid readers, have at it! Amsterdam         This wonderful city was the first stop on our journey. We got there Thursday night and stayed with Simon, a couchsurfing host. We were welcomed with homemade beer, exchanging favorite tunes, and stopping in a club, Canvas, super close to his house. Our first observations were the more colorful, hippie, dreaded (hair) people. They were quite interesting dancers too. Maria and I loved all the color people wore in these countries. T
