Domestic days with the boy, picking out flowers, visiting his hometown, coffee by the harbor, and meeting his "second family." The town of Dragør is a very quiet, peaceful town by the harbor with this fort they made to watch the pesky Swedes. (I believe that's what it was). The town is adorable with perfect little yellow homes along cobblestone paths, accented with beautiful vivid flowers in the windows and gardens. It was nice having coffee with his "second family" who were very welcoming and lovely. Interesting too with all their African hunting experiences.

That night, we were on a mission to make a jungle for his room and ended up with this beast. It was funny too, after his very domestic day, we really had to get our motivation to go out for a party. We felt a little old and lame being content just laying in bed admiring the newly rearranged room.

Nevertheless, we got ourselves out and enjoyed time with good friends for Anne-Lise and Charlotte's housewarming party.

"The Prince" got to meet everyone too and really liking everyone.

Being able to run again and having the beautiful Copenhagen lakes to run around.

The sun coming out for perfect weather to lay in the king's garden.

2023 in Review (Plus 2020-2022, oops)

I am super bummed to realize that I haven't done a yearly review/highlights since 2019! That's FOUR YEARS ago! Pre covid, pre Oregon, pre master's degree, pre return to Florida, pre a million babies being born... So much has changed! It's always to nice to sit back and look at all that happens in a year too. It's now February. I started this post in December and was about to go and try to edit and make it all fancy with links to other posts and all kinds of cool things.... I'm sure there are some mistakes even with the years, things left out... but progress over perfection right? We're just going posting it in 3...2...1... Have fun! 2023 1. Bike bike biking everywhere. To the Grom for tasty lunch treats, Indian almost every week, grocery shopping, to the gym, just to bike around in the sun. It's been great! 2. Things I Learned This Weekend

1. Throwing away pictures quickly turns into hours of laughing at old selves and bringing back so many memories. High school friends and I have often wondered what we did in high school since we weren't the typical partying teens. After this picture raid, I realized... we took pictures. In dressing rooms, walmart, cars, kitchen islands... 2. My parents are awesome. I didn't learn this this weekend but it was definitely reinforced. They are just such dedicated, good people. We're also surrounded by some amazingly supportive friends. 3. My dad is so cool. I mean really... Cool guy on the right... Can he get any more awesome? Not to mention that crazy guy on the left, aka Uncle Dennis. I never did get a straight answer about whether he dressed like that on the reg or not. So was that a regular occurrence, Dennis?! ;) 4. Tivoli and Rugby

Adding another great week to the list for my time in Denmark. Last Tuesday, I went to an international gathering for students at DTU (Denmark Technical Institute) at the Cellar Bar. I met a couple cool people there from Belgium (Ruben), Canada, France, and Denmark and met back up with a couple of them on Friday night. We went to see one of their Spanish friends play a Latin set at a bar in the city. On our way there, we were a bit worried at how this place would be considering it was on the street well known for its... Services. But we got to the Luna Bar and it wound up being really fun. The band was actually excellent , and had everyone dancing. Ruben and his friends were a lot of fun to hang out with. On Saturday, I went to Tivoli, the second oldest theme park, with the family and met Claus' parents and sister there. It's no wonder Tivoli inspired Walt Disney to do his own thing.
