Munchkin Quotes

This was a week filled with happy quotes like... "I can't wait to go home! Not because I don't like this place but because I have a play date!" "A t first, when my mom said reading camp, I was mad, but I didn't know it was going to be this much fun!"    "Can I have my birthday party here?!"  Those should be used for Lindamood-Bell advertisements or something.  "I'm glad I have you so much today (3 out of 4 of her sessions). I like you."  After getting so excited about some rewards I gave one girl " I'm so excited, you deserve this!" And proceeded to kiss my pony tail.  "You coming here was like my life long dream!" From a nanny babe.   These sweet little souls just warm my heart.

High five for Friday

Happy Friday, Friends! I hope everyone enjoys their weekends and starts gettin those bellies ready for Thanksgiving! I know I'm more stoked than ever for this Thanksgiving. I get to meet my precious niece  and  see my brother and sis I haven't seen in over TWO YEARS.  Talk about too long. These are some of the highlights from my week.   1. A week full of amazing nanny times. Walks with this precious angel baby, sharing the love of flowers, the beach and music made for a lovely Sunday. Stopping to enjoy the musicians on the street was beyond worth it, watching her little legs bouncin and shoulders swaying  (link to video of the cuteness). The lady even let her pluck her (probably) first violin. Another enjoyed night watching three great girls last night. From 2 years old to 15, these girls all have an amazing sense of humor, sweetness, and character. Their whole family makes me excited about family life. 2. Bringing these two beauts home. Meet Butter...

Things I Learned This Weekend

1. Throwing away pictures quickly turns into hours of laughing at old selves and bringing back so many memories. High school friends and I have often wondered what we did in high school since we weren't the typical partying teens. After this picture raid, I realized... we took pictures. In dressing rooms, walmart, cars, kitchen islands...  2. My parents are awesome. I didn't learn this this weekend but it was definitely reinforced. They are just such dedicated, good people. We're also surrounded by some amazingly supportive friends.  3. My dad is so cool. I mean really... Cool guy on the right... Can he get any more awesome? Not to mention that crazy guy on the left, aka Uncle Dennis. I never did get a straight answer about whether he dressed like that on the reg or not. So was that a regular occurrence, Dennis?! ;) 4. Sleepy babies are one of the sweetest things to see.  5. Having adult conversations with toddlers is so amusing to me. Brooks and I d...

Nanny Diaries

I started nannying for several families this last month and it's been so entertaining. I've watched so many kids in such a short time I've had a hard time remembering them all! For just a quick, happy post today, I'll just share some of the funnies from the little ones I've been watching.  Two adorable red heads I've been watching each week have won a piece of my heart. The oldest (2) is super sweet, repeats everything, and loves doing handstands. His repeating is one of my favorite things. His mom said it can be difficult though when she's trying to figure out what's hurting him and she'll ask "is it your stomach?" He repeats "stomach." "Throat?" ... "Throat." And keeps going.  They are just such kind hearted, easy going babes.  This 2 year old girl I watched this week is a unique one to me. Instead of just doing typical 2 year old things like swinging and going down the slide, she was content with chillin and...

Today's Gratitude

Lately I've been grateful for A roommate that brings me soup and Gatorade when I'm sick.  And gives me such an awesome compliment as "she finds the beauty in everyone." Celebrating a good friend's wedding this Saturday. Even despite the rain, venue mishaps, and glitches they experienced, it was a beautiful, special wedding filled with love and excitement for such a deserving couple. A ridiculously loving mama that has endured the stress I put her in like a champ, and the heartfelt andtear-filled  conversations that bring us closer together.  Best friend Leslie and bike cruising to reflect and let go. Or help let go at least. New nanny jobs with beautifully sweet ginger babies. I love that in adding more work to my life for extra money and something to keep me busy, I also get more joy. This will be a week full of nannying plus work so I'll get back to you about that by Friday. I'll probably be doing one giant High Five just for Friday....
