America, Weddings, and... Adulthood?

For some reason, since I've been back, I've been forgetting/thinking there's nothing to write about now, as if my adventures were done or people weren't interested anymore. But, even being back in Ocala, living with the rents, and being in the awkward job searching phase, a lot's been going on. So here's an update for those still interested in my State-side life. 
(Jacksonville... Hopefully my soon to be home again!)
Old-fashioned 4th of July
 We got to celebrate the 4th of July in proper fashion at the O'Connell lake house with:
Neighbors we've spent the 4th with since I was born, doing parades around our neighborhood, great food, three babies, jet skiing, and an awesome firework show.

Oh, the weddings
First, I watched the perfect Belle (her favorite over Cinderella) get married to her prince in the perfect Disney inspired wedding. My two favorite parts of the day: 1) as the Disney songs were coming on while the guests entered the church, Lindsay said, "If I was having a wedding, I'd want it to be just like this."  
2) Her comedic brother coming in while she was getting ready and "assisting with her makeup," for a great photo opp. 
Then, two weeks later, I got to see another great friend marry her man. It was a beautiful wedding with everyone so touched by the marriage of these two people. The reception was one of the most fun I've been to, with the most dancing I've seen, and everyone catching up with old friends.   

Both of these weddings were such celebrated events. You could just feel everyone's complete excitement for these couples. I'm so grateful to have been a part of these friends' big days! 
Adulthood?
I officially got the title of a car in my name. Sounds exciting besides this whole thing called insurance. But it's still kinda cool, making my way into adulthood I suppose. Now just to find a big girl job. 
Did I mention I had a job at a coffee shop for a day, quit the next day, then walked the streets of St. Augustine like a homeless person? Yeah, boss lady wasn't gonna work... No more bad work environments, please. At least I learned how to make a baked brie with fancy pastry roses on top. 
 I did have a pretty promising job search in Jacksonville this week. Send your prayers, wishes, crossed fingers, and good karma my way so I can get the job to hang with adorable grandmas and grandpas all day. 
For now, I'm nannying for my three favorite kids in Ocala hoping to get something in Jacksonville ASAP! 

 It's of course been great seeing everyone, having coffee dates with Ocala friends, beach trips with Hulia, and Leslie style movie nights.

Tivoli and Rugby

         Adding another great week to the list for my time in Denmark. Last Tuesday, I went to an international gathering for students at DTU (Denmark Technical Institute) at the Cellar Bar. I met a couple cool people there from Belgium (Ruben), Canada, France, and Denmark and met back up with a couple of them on Friday night. We went to see one of their Spanish friends play a Latin set at a bar in the city. On our way there, we were a bit worried at how this place would be considering it was on the street well known for its... Services. But we got to the Luna Bar and it wound up being really fun. The band was actually excellent , and had everyone dancing. Ruben and his friends were a lot of fun to hang out with.          On Saturday, I went to Tivoli, the second oldest theme park, with the family and met Claus' parents and sister there. Hej fra Danmark!

        So I've finally arrived in Denmark and all settled in already. It's awesome in every way so far; the parents are so friendly and cool, the kids are adorable, the weather is amazing (I'm the only one walking around in shorts, a T-shirt and sandals, of course), the house is a beautiful, cozy home built around 1921, I just got done with a little explorative walk and the neighborhood/area is picturesque with flowers everywhere, adorable homes, and a lake nearby... It's just wonderful.           Yesterday, after a little confusion about where to meet up, using a stranger's phone (as always), and wandering around a bit, Lotte and one of the kids picked me up from the airport greeting me with the sign shown below. We made it back to the house after a little detour (I guess Lotte gets distracted driving too!), and we had coffee. We had breads and cake they got from the bakery for me to try, and they were all delicious.       ...

Crater Lake Birthday {Dylan's 40th}

Dylan has never been a big birthday celebration guy. This year when I asked him what he wanted to do, he said something like, "I don't know. Maybe get some nice dinner around town somewhere?" But I on the otherhand  must celebrate birthdays. Especially Dylan's. This guy deserves a memorable celebration.  So I insisted we go to Crater Lake and it was so worth it. What an incredible, jaw dropping, thought provoking place. The first night, we sat enjoying the bluest waters with the perfect lighting. We camped at Mazama where we were all set up with our new camping boiler thing to cook up our freeze dried camping meals, new headlamps, coffee plans... and then ate some hot chili and a meal at the campground lodge. haha We at least enjoyed out coffee at the tent the next morning.  The next day was filled with three fantastic hikes to see the Watchman Lookout for epic views of this like 2000' deep, 7700 year old crater. Then we got a lovely wildflower loop and waterfall ...
